Instant Masala Bread Uthappam-No Fermentation Required

Instant dosa/uthappam recipes are always welcome in any place especially among young mothers who run behind their families and kids 24/7.I have already posted recipes of instant ragi dosa,instant jowar dosa ,instant wheat dosa,instant wheat ragi dosa,instant multigrain dosa,instant rava dosa,instant vegetable dosa and now adding a super quick recipe of instant bread uthappam with some added masala and veggies.Last weekend we had tried making some bread at home and we had it handy.The bread didn’t turn out so great but I didn’t want to waste it.(It tasted apt but some look and finish issues).So I ended up using that loaf in this recipe. Ingredients for Instant Masala Bread Uthappam-No Fermentation Required:

  • Whole wheat bread-8 slices
  • Poha/Aval-2 tbsp(Optional)
  • Rice Flour-2 tbsp(Optional)
  • Curd-1 cup
  • Sambhar Powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Chilli Powder-1/2 tsp
  • Pepper-Few pinches
  • Salt -To taste
  • Vegetables-1/2 cup(Tomato,Onion,Carrot)
  • Oil-To cook

Procedure:

1.Get all ingredients ready.

2.Make thin pieces out of the bread slices.

3.Add to a dry mixer jar and powder it.

4.To this add curd,masala,salt and mix well.

5.Now powder some poha and add it to the batter(This is completely optional).Mix water and make a batter of thick flowing consistency.

6.Heat a dosa pan and grease with some oil.

7.Pour some batter and spread to a small extent.

8.Add the vegetables and sprinkle oil.(You can skip veggies too).

9.Cook in medium flame by closing it.

10.If you are not adding vegetables,flip and cook both sides.

11.Serve it hot with sauce or chutneys of your choice.

P.S:

I used whole wheat bread loaf.You can use white bread too.

Skip salt and reduce spices for babies below one year.

Don’t spread the batter to make thin and bigger dosa.It might break.

Flip them carefully.

They are extremely soft in texture but fills tummy well.

I made it little thick and replicated the usual vegetable uthappam. You can serve it plain too.
