This is my 301 st post on blog.What an amazing and blessed journey it has been!Almost three years of blogging,lots of friends/well wishers/supporters/followers ,several hours of hard-work,tons of experiences ,bunch of lessons and zero monetary benefits.This blog is a brain child of beloved hubby.It all started when he was guilty of having me away from my most lovable job for umpteen reasons . He pushed me to give a start. I didn’t have a clue what this is all about.I just recorded all recipes I knew with all my knowledge on healthy eating.When I look back the images I posted initially I feel awful today but I am really happy about the learnings. Slowly I incorporated more healthy baby foods as little one was growing along and started focusing on no white cooking which had been the norm of my cooking since inception.This gradually took me to people and there are no words to describe my joy when I received notes from parents/people saying “It was you who transformed our child’s eating routine”,”Kalyani,Thanks for being an inspiration to live healthy without compromising on taste”,”I owe a lot for making my baby’s weaning smooth”.”We miss your healthy recipes”.These aren’t just words.They are real feathers on my crown which I can proudly carry and treat as a blessing.The travel was not smooth.It was a bed roses with too many thorns than petals.Lots of barriers(personal/technical/mental/physical) came along. With the love,motivation and encouragement of family,friends and supporters here I stand feeling not happy or proud or accomplished but blessed.Yes truly blessed.THANKS is the least I can say.But Millions of thanks and tons of love to each person who has been a constant source of positive energy .I bow down to God and each of you.
Today’s recipe should have been a sweet or a cake to celebrate. I actually didn’t realise that I am nearing this mark.But you can always celebrate without sweets/cakes and even without reasons.Because you have a life.What more do you need to celebrate? Give it a thought. Live & Love every moment. What’s special about this recipe? It is from my back bone/life time supporter/hubby’s instant flash recipe.
Cabbage Peas Rice:
- Rice-1 cup
- Cabbage-1 small
- Peas-1/4 cup
- Moong Dhal-3 tbsp
- Coconut-4 tbsp
- Salt-To taste
- Oil-To cook
- Green Chilly-3
- Garlic -5
- Mustard Seeds-1/4 tsp
- Urad Dhal-1/4 tsp
- Curry Leaves-Hand-few
1.Measure and keep all the ingredients ready.
2.Chop cabbage ,garlic,green chilly finely and set aside.
3.Soak rice,peas,moong dhal for 20 minutes and pressure cook for 1 whistle.(Al-Dente )
4.Steam cook the cabbage without water for 5 minutes.
5.Cool and fluff the rice after the pressure is released and drain excess water from peas and moong dhal.
6.Add oil in a pan,temper with mustard seeds,urad dhal,curry leaves,green chilly and garlic.
7.When the raw smell of garlic vanishes ,add cabbage,peas,moong dhal and give a quick stir.
8.Add salt and switch off the stove.
9.Cool it and mix it with rice.
10.Cabbage Peas Rice is ready
