Gluten-Free Momos Recipe:
Gluten-free momos recipe tempted me to try when Prabavathy posted in R & G group. We already have recipes of tofu momo, whole wheat momos and spinach corn momos on the blog. This is a very healthy version of the momos especially for people who have gluten allergies or who prefer to avoid wheat.
Gluten-Free Momos Recipe
You can make it vegan by using vegetable stuffing like my previous recipes.
For 12-15 momos
Ingredients:
- Rice Flour-1/2 cup
- Sago/Javvarisi Maavu-1/2 cup
- Water- close to 1/2 cup
- Salt-To taste
For the stuffing:
- Ginger garlic paste-1/2 tbsp
- Red Chilly Powder-1/2 tsp
- Salt-To taste
- Crumbled paneer- 3/4 cup
- Onion-1 tbsp chopped
For the javarisi flour, dry roast the sago/javvarisi and cool completely. Finely powder it and sieve twice of thrice.
Gluten-Free Momos Recipe
Procedure:
1. Measure and keep all the ingredients ready. In a wide bowl add both the flour and mix with salt. You can sieve once now.
2. Boil water and slowly keep adding to the flour.
3. Knead into a smooth dough. Roll into small portions.
4. For the stuffing add oil in a pan and saute ginger garlic paste and onions. Quickly mix salt, red chilly powder and scrambled paneer.
5. Don’t rest the dough. Flatten them thin.
6. Place the stuffing and make the folding. I have shared the method of folding below.
7. Steam cook them for 10-15 minutes and serve them hot with momos chutney.
P.S:
Make the roti as thin as possible. The thicker you make the harder it will become, as time passes by.
The dough should be soft.
Adjust the spices based on your taste.
The stuffing mixture should be dry.

This can be offered to babies above 9 months but ensure to be with them when you serve.
