Eggless Ragi Choco Chip Cake Recipe-Here comes one more random attempt with millet flour in baking without raising agents. I wanted to check the result of not using baking powder/soda in baking. My cookies were 100% successful. This cake got slightly dunked in. And I believe it is because of not using raising agents or curd. I am looking for experts to share their opinion on this. Here is the story of this bake 🙂 I ended up burning the top of my cupcakes but successfully made this cake with my little ones help. My boy is so keen about what mommy cooks for him for every meal. He urges me to plan my every meal, every snack of the week well ahead. He has his own choices and he would love to assist me in cooking especially baking. This was planned to be eggless choco chip cupcakes with ragi and flax seeds without raising agents. I accidentally altered the mode and extended the timing with no proper knowledge and burnt the top of cupcakes. So I poured the second part of the batter to a cake pan,LO did the mixing, garnishing and converted it to tutti fruity cake 🙂 He removed the burnt top of the cupcakes and stored them for this snack box for the coming week. How much should we learn from these kiddos?! I even forgot the exact measurements as this was made long back. I have given the procedure and other details for both cake and cup cake here.

Happy New year and belated Pongal wishes folks 🙂 I am back a long vacation. I hope all of you are keeping good health out there.We all love quick bites like vadai /bajji/fritters when they home made. I would like to highlight a point here .Fried Foods are always not unsafe,especially deep fried foods.Deep fried foods when not taken regularly and not cooked in used oil/refined oils is definitely safe when taken in moderation.Trust me ,even ghee fried foods are safe.It is best to use seed oils for regular use if possible cold pressed.Our family have always been using coconut oil and sesame oil only. Masala Vadai/Paruppu Vadai is one of my favourite snacks,that too on a chill evening with cool breeze.You can definitely gobble 2 to 3 with no guilt. Chaat Foods/ Items- These are the most popular street foods of India.These are one of the most common favourites for many of us.Hope none would stop getting attracted to chaat items.I am no different in that .I love them as occasional treats. I always like pav bhaji more when it comes to my kid as it has a blend of veggies and getting a whole wheat pav bun is comparatively easier than finding whole wheat pooris. Oma Podi/Plain Sev/Om Podi is one of the easiest snacks/quickest diwali savoruy item which can be made.This is my sisters most favourite so my grandmother ,mom,aunt used to make this very often even during non festive seasons.It is mostly made with besan flour/kadala maavu/chick pea flour ,rice flour and ajwain.Few skip rice flour.Hubby wanted me to give it a try this time.So I made it.Believe me it gets done in no time.There is no much of any specific tricks in this.I would prefer such home made snacks to any store bought ones always because we make it and I use only coconut oil to make any such snacks to make it healthy even though they are deep fried. Sandwich is such a saviour for me.When I blink with no options to make I just blend the available ingredients to make a sandwich and my son just loves it.This was one such random try .I actually planned for a bread pizza but little one didn’t want the sauce on it,so this recipe is an open sandwich.Adding sauce(check out home made sauce recipe here) will make it an exact bread pizza. Sandwiches are excellent options for breakfast/snack/dinner because of the variations we can make and stuff all vegetables we wish to make it healthy/yummy/colourful.
