Watermelon Granita-Granita is a frozen dessert usually made with 2 or 3 ingredients. I have been working on making a healthy version of fruit granita and clicking it successfully. Yeah…Clicking was tougher than figuring out a healthy watermelon granita recipe. Granita may make you think something great or tough. The name is just a sophistication. It is just like the jalfrezi which made me super mad to even to give a try. Granita is nothing but freezing any fruit juice or combination of juices with sweetener, raking/scraping, and serving…No gulping 🙂 I tried 3 to 4 variants and none at home has so far had a chance to even taste. Yep. I gulped the moment I clicked. Something like the Indian Kola sticks which is one of the famous street foods. Without taking much of your time let me share the watermelon granita recipe.

Hello readers, How are you doing? There was a short gap in my blogging owing to few health reasons and certain technical issues in running the site.I have been trying to get back to normalcy but somehow it just got postponed. It is scorching hot everywhere and Delhi touched 114 F last week. My best half was craving for the traditional Ragi Kali which is the most common food in South India and this Ragi Kali Recipe is a natural coolant. I haven’t so far tried this version of Ragi Kali. I took help of my in-laws over video call and made this. We have tasted koozh made of pearl millet and I love them so crazy. Strawberry Icecream Recipe:
Hello everybody 🙂 How do you do? It has been more than 2 weeks since I posted a recipe on my blog.We had a quick trip to our native and was away from home.I made all plans and had around 20 recipes to post during this period. But once we started travelling I didn’t get my mood back to sit and work.In simple words, I took a break and fed my laziness 😉 Coming to today’s Strawberry Icecream Recipe, I had tried two versions of eggless homemade ice creams at home last year and both were super hits among friends and family. But both the versions either called for condensed milk or corn flour+milk or some other ingredients. I wanted to give it a try with simple healthy ingredients and hence chose this 3 ingredients trial. I wasn’t confident until I clicked the last picture and gulped it. More than the recipe, clicking the pictures were real nightmares. It was too hot outside and when I set the frame and brought the ice cream it got melted or my frame setting was so bad.Somehow I managed to click few less than average images to include in the recipe. It melts in no time since we haven’t used any thickener or artificial ingredients.Come let’s have look at the simple 3 ingredients eggless no white sugar no churn strawberry ice cream recipe.
Disclaimer: The recipes with healthy ingredients/no preservatives might not be same as store-bought or restaurants like taste or similar shelf life. But I definitely guarantee a high health quotient.Icecreams are perfectly for once in a while consumption.

Hello Friends 🙂 How are you tackling summer? This is the question I wanted to ask before even asking how you are.We just came down to TamilNadu from Delhi and it is terribly hot.Litres & Litres of water wouldn’t be enough to keep us hydrated.I kindly request all of you to stay indoors as much as possible and keep yourself well hydrated with water and cool foods. With this scorching heat, here I come with a supernatural and healthy summer drink recipe. The Hibiscus Syrup Recipe was suggested to my mother by one of our relatives and she had suggested me to have this on my blog.My mother tried a trial of it with white sugar with my relative’s recipe and as it turned out super delicious, I wanted to give it a try with palm sugar before posting it to my viewers.I couldn’t get enough of the pictures.I kept clicking and clicking. The recipe took me 15 minutes totally but I took more than 4 hours to click. It was super awesome to view the pictures and I couldn’t resist. And today being World Heritage Day, I am so happy to present this dish 🙂

Kathiri Veyil/Agni Nakshatram/Peak summer season has started from today and all of us have fallen victims to the rays of Sun.To beat the heat and prevent ourselves from the ill effects of summer,it is essential to include more seasonal foods/coolants in our diet. One such excellent coolant is NUNGU.This is from Palm tree and it widely present and easily available in southern parts of India. For those who would like to see the complete image of NUNGU please find them below. On cutting you get a lychee like fruit. This can be consumed as such whereas few remove the white skin and eat the jelly like substance alone. This skin is very good for curing stomach disorders. It is otherwise called palmyra palm or ice apple or toddy palm or tadgola,taal/taad(Hindi,Marathi),Karimpana(Malayalam),Tatichettu/Thatti Munjalu(Telugu),Olegari/Thatti Nungu(Kannada).Few places refer this as palm fruit but as per my knowledge palm fruit is still a ripened version of this and it is called panam pazham in tamil. This is available till august whereas the by products like palm candy, palm sugar, palm jaggery are available all through the year.It has excellent medicinal properties.Ice apple has a perfect blend of all minerals and the best coolant for summer season. It is rich in Vitamin A,B,C,Iron,Potassium,Phosphorous and zinc. It keeps your body hydrated. It helps to get relief from constipation and fatigue. It prevents from heat stroke, pimples, prickly heat etc.It has few phytochemicals which inhibit growth of malignancy in breast. It is an excellent energy booster. Most of us have literally lost our appetite and we are badly craving for some cooler/refreshing drink even for our regular meal. Here is a very quick and simple smoothie recipe with KIWI & APPLE. I like the slight tangy taste which kiwi has and it is good to consume as such. The first time I had Kiwi I just scooped out and just as the way we usually have sapota/Chikku. Later I had tried KIWI BANANA smoothie which is an ultimate combination and it is just yum. This is yet another try with Kiwi. With respect to offering Kiwi to babies, most of the recommendations suggest to offer them beyond 8 months since they are acidic in nature if your baby usually has tummy troubles. Kiwi is not a high allergic fruit. Always have a word with your doctor before giving any new food. Continue reading “KIWI APPLE SMOOTHIE”
