Sandwich is such a saviour for me.When I blink with no options to make I just blend the available ingredients to make a sandwich and my son just loves it.This was one such random try .I actually planned for a bread pizza but little one didn’t want the sauce on it,so this recipe is an open sandwich.Adding sauce(check out home made sauce recipe here) will make it an exact bread pizza. Sandwiches are excellent options for breakfast/snack/dinner because of the variations we can make and stuff all vegetables we wish to make it healthy/yummy/colourful.
- Bread Slices-10
- Corn-1/4 cup(chopped)
- Capsicum-1/4 cup(chopped)
- Cheese-1/4 cup(grated)
- Pizza Sauce-As needed
- Chilli Powder-1/4 tsp
- Salt-As per taste
- Pepper-1/4 tsp
- Pizza Mix/Italian Spices-1 tsp
- Ghee-To toast
1.Measure and keep all ingredients ready.
2.Mix all ingredients together (except bread and ghee.)
3.In a dosa pan,drizzle ghee and toast both the sides of the bread slices.Let one side be slightly toasted.
4.Keep all the toasted slices aside.
5.Spread the cheese+corn+capsicum mixture on the slices.(On the side that is well toasted).Spread pizza sauce before adding the mixture if you are using.
6.Place on the slices on the pan and cook in medium flame by closing it for two minutes.
7.Remove the bread slice when the cheese begins to melt and serve it warm.
Adjust spices as per your taste.
Using whole wheat bread is recommended.
I have used mozzarella cheese.
You can add any veggies of your choice.
Avoid salt for babies less than one year.
Babies above 6 months can be given with less spices after having ruled out allergies of individual ingredients.
Always have a word with your doctor before offering any new food to babies.
