Keerai Masiyal for Sadam|Spinach Mash for Babies & Toddlers

Keerai Masiyal-This is nothing but a flavourful spinach mash made as an accompaniment to steaming hot rice.We used to love it as kids and roam happily with the green moustaches after having been fed with it.It is so simple to make but super healthy. It is so rich in iron and super yummy when you drizzle with ghee.I feel so nostalgic when I think about my grandmother feeding me this.

My Observations:

Ensure to have removed all flawed keerai before cooking.

You can use arai keerai or thandu keerai or mullai keerai for this. Few use palak too.I have not tried it so far.

No water is required while cooking or mashing.

Cleaning Keerai is bit tricky and important.

Please find the recipe for how to use this with rice.

Thallippu Vadagam is a fryum made with shallots

You can introduce green leaves to babies from 6 months to 8 months of age.

Always have a word with your doctor before offering any new food to babies.
