Keerai Sadam for Babies & Toddlers
Keerai Sadam is made with Keerai Masiyal/Kadaisal and rice with a ghee drizzle.It is a yummy combo and iron-rich food for babies and toddlers. Amma always ensures we take this weekly thrice as we were little fussy about other forms of keerai.This is one the first foods given to babies in South India next to dhal rice.
Keerai Sadam Recipe for Babies & Toddlers:
1.In a bowl take the steaming rice and mash by adding ghee.
2.Now add the keerai masiyal to the rice and blend well.
3.Serve it warm.
You can use arai keerai or thandu keerai or mullai keerai for this. Few use palak too.I have not tried it so far.
Cleaning Keerai is bit tricky and important.
You can introduce green leaves to babies from 6 months to 8 months of age.
Always have a word with your doctor before offering any new food to babies.
