Keerai Dosa-Keerai Dosa is made with dosa batter and spinach(any variety of green) leaves.It is so simple to make but extremely nutritious.As a child, I used to take greens only in the form of dosa or masiyal always.Adding shallots to it makes it yummy.Amma brought a variety of greens from my hometown and that’s why my blog is full of those recipes.We don’t find the exact varieties we get locally in our hometown at Delhi.It was a real treat for us as we were longing for Keerai.
Keerai Dosa Recipe:
- Keerai /Spinach Leaves-1 Cup(Chopped & Tightly Packed)
- Dosa Batter-2 cups
- Shallots-1/4 cups(Chopped finely)
- Salt-To taste
- Oil-To grease
1.Measure and Keep all the ingredients ready.
2.Mix the shallots & spinach leaves(chopped), salt well with the batter.
3.Grease a dosa pan and pour a ladle of batter and spread into a dosa.
4.Sprinkle some oil.
5.Flip and cook the other side too.
6.Repeat for the remaining batter too.
7.Serve it warm with chutney.
You can use any type of keerai.
Ensure to chop into fine pieces.
Cleaning and removing dirt is a very crucial step with all spinach varieties.
You can offer this for babies above six months.
Skip salt for babies below one year.
You can add some chopped green chillies.
You can introduce green leaves to babies from 6 months to 8 months of age.
Always have a word with your doctor before offering any new food to babies.
