Hi friends, I’m Sujana, a Computer Engineer by profession, a homemaker by choice and forever a creative blogger at by passion. Mushroom Roast Recipe

South style mushroom roast recipe

  • Mushroom – 200 gm
  • Dried red chilli – 5
  •  Pepper – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
  • Onion – 30 gm
  • Garlic – 2 pods
  • Grated coconut – 1.5 tbsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt

1. Wash and clean the mushrooms and cut them into cubes.
2. In a mixer/food processor, add red chillies, peppercorns, garlic pods, onion and grated coconut and grind coarsely.
3. Apply this ground mixture along with turmeric and salt on the mushrooms.
4. Heat oil in a kadai.
5. Add mustard seeds, split urad dal and curry leaves and saute until they splutter.

6. Now add in the mushrooms and saute.
7. Please don’t add water and let the mushrooms get cooked in their own juices.
8. Keep roasting until the juices dry out and the mushrooms get cooked well.
9. This takes around 8 – 10 minutes approximately.
10. Serve hot with Rice/Chappathi or Rotis.

This can be offered to babies above six months skipping the salt.
