Mushroom Pepper Fry:
Kitchen Kathukutty is nearing three years completion coming February 12 and I began sending out invites for guest posts to mark my celebrations. I have been inviting guest posts to my blog after publishing 100 recipes to honour all friends and supporters. So here is my personal invite to each of you out there

Today’s guest is from Mrs.Priya JeyaPrakash,my good friend from Cochin.She is a mother of an active toddler boy and an amazing human. She cooks so flavourful and comes out with varieties.I loved her tomato pulao with millets when I had visited her.When I had announced about my upcoming third anniversary of blog and guest post recipes ,she immediately came out with “Mushroom Pepper Fry” which her mom usually makes. I got inspired to cook the traditional recipes and I always refer to her blog for them. I also appreciate her efforts of sharing many tips regarding baby/toddler recipes(which was very useful for my Toddler) .My Hearty wishes for her to add many more healthy recipes in her blog:) I’m happy to share my recipe in kitchenkathukutty “Mushrooms Pepper Fry”
- Mushrooms (Button/milk) – 1 pack ( 200 gms)
- Pepper Corns-1 tsp
- Cumin Seeds -1 tsp
- Curry leaves -Handful
- Onion – 2 (Chopped)
- Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
- Mustard Seeds-1 tsp
- Urad dal-1 tsp
- Oil-To Cook
- Salt -To tasteProcedure:1.Measure and keep all the ingredients ready.2.Coarsely grind pepper and jeera and keep it aside
3.Chop onions and Mushrooms into small pieces4.Heat a kadai, add oil, add one spoon of mustard seeds, Urad Dal and curry leaves.5.Now add the chopped onions and saute well.6.After onions are sauted well, add the Mushrooms and salt ; and mix well with the onion.7.Now add turmeric powder and saute.8.Sprinkle some water and cover the kadai with a lid for few minutes.9.Open the lid and mix the curry.10.Now add the coarsely ground pepper corn and Jeera .11.Mix well and keep in low flame for 5 minutes.12.When the oil begins to separate,the recipe is ready to be served.
Note:# You can use either Button /Milk Mushrooms.# You can also use pepper powder and Jeera powder instead of the whole corns & seeds.# While adding water just sprinkle it instead of pouring, else, it makes the recipe into a gravy one instead of fry.# This recipe goes well with plain rice, Rasam rice, Curd rice or even chappati.Thank you for this opportunity of sharing the recipe in the blog.
