Vegetable Biriyani Recipe

Seeraga Samba Rice Vegetable Biriyani Recipe

Seeraga Samba Rice Vegetable Biriyani Recipe:

Seeraga Samba Rice Biriyani has a special unique flavour associated with it. The speciality of it is very evident with its popularity. My husband likes biriyani with seeraga samba and he insists to basmati only for pulao & fried rice recipes. Given below is a no-fail recipe from my kitchen. Technically speaking this is also pulao because of the method. But the taste and flavour are similar to that of biriyani. So you can even call it One Pot Biriyani Pulao. Who cares about the name? Taste is the most important one. Am I right?

Whole Wheat Pasta

Cheesy Corn Fusilli-Whole Wheat Pasta

Cheesy Corn Fusilli-Whole Wheat Pasta:

I am a die-hard fan of pasta/macaroni especially the cheesy white sauce ones. You may even notice that one of my earliest posts was white sauce pasta. Like Mother, Like son- This little miracle of us also loves pasta varieties. When he began exploring and loving them I had to look deeper into the nutrition details of the pasta because most of them are maida/refined flour based. Initially, I had a belief that durum wheat pasta was better when compared to maida based ones. But unfortunately, it is not so 100%. Whole wheat pasta is the best in terms of nutrition.

Vegeatble Pulao

Vegetable Pulao for Kids

Vegetable Pulao Recipe for Kids:

Vegetable Pulao/Pulav is a super quick and easy dish which can be yummy and colorful for kids lunchbox. There are several types of pulao which comes like a flash to my mind during morning hours and one such is this too. When I wanted to put on this post, I had a query on if it is fried rice or biriyani or pulao. Hence I went in to dig more about biriyani vs pulao. Biriyani and Pulao are two different dishes but to give the differences is pretty confusing. Biriyani is basically a dish made with pre-cooked rice and vegetables using layering technique whereas pulao is when we cook rice and vegetables together in a pot. Biriyani is time-consuming and pretty spicy when compared to pulao. These are the basic differences. The below recipe post has two attempts made on two different days. I didn’t have Basmati Rice in my pantry and hence tried with Seeraga Samba Rice during the second attempt. It was so flavourful and great that my little one wanted it more and more. But ideally, pulao is made using Basmati Rice. After reading about Biriyani Vs Pulao, I understood that we have been using it vice versa too at times. But who cares when the dish is just delicious 🙂

Whole Wheat Veg. Noodles

Whole Wheat Veg. Noodles For Kids

Whole Wheat Veg. Noodles:

Is there any kid who doesn’t like noodles? Why kids, even adults love them. My son who is four years old is no different but he himself prefers whole wheat ones only. Thankfully he is not addicted to it as he always prefers a variety of foods. I kept refraining using them in our regular meal as I was only able to source partial wheat products or those with durum wheat or maida based ones. I have tried making noodles just like the street food style during our early days of marriage(more than 4 years ago), I wasn’t really so aware of the availability Whole Wheat Veg. Noodles in the market and to be frank we weren’t too bothered about it until our son became 3.5 yrs. He had not tasted them until then. Our hunt for the perfect healthy and tasty variant began when our son started liking Whole Wheat Veg. Noodles. I have tried few brands and I found Del Monte Spaghetti, Whole Wheat (Click link to buy) to be good. You may also try Colavita Spaghetti

. Both of them are worth trying as they are made of whole wheat. The below recipe has a very small quantity of soya sauce. I make Whole Wheat Veg. Noodles once in several months and hence I feel they don’t really make any harm. For kids below 12 months, please skip all sauces and salt in this recipe. If you would prefer making this Whole Wheat Veg. Noodles often kindly use a low sodium soy sauce for kids. Use only homemade tomato sauce. I have taken utmost care to keep this Whole Wheat Veg. Noodles recipe safe and healthy for kids of all age since it is always a showstopper among them.
