P.S:

Kashayam should be prepared and consumed on the same day.

The Thoothuvaalai leaves will have thorns to it. So please handle with care.

Don’t add more thoothuvalai leaves as they turn the concoction bitter.

For kids less than 5 years, you can offer the kashayam 2-3 tbsp three times a day.

Do not offer this for more than 5 days.

For elder kids and adults, quarter cup dosage of kashayam would do.

If you are adding honey, add it after cooling. Don’t boil with honey.

You can skip any of the ingredients if it is not available with you i.e only tulsi would do or tulsi+ajwain leaves would do.

Grandmom also adds some adathodai leaves to this at times.

You can also add some dry ginger powder

Please don’t attempt any home remedy for babies less than 1 year.

Ensure to have introduced all items before and eliminate allergies.

Always have a word with your doctor before introducing any new food to babies.
