The paneer popcorn was a trial made last month as a part of 30 days healthy snacks and we loved the way it turned. The paneer popcorn recipe was tried again and the best part was it remaining crispy even after 2 hours. You can pack this for snack box too and retain the crispy nature place a tissue inside. I have experimented it with yam chips and all our friends loved relishing it after hours of cooking

Any deep fry if made occasionally and consumed in moderation will have no harmful effects on your health. Preferably use coconut oil for all deep-fries. The paneer popcorn recipe is slightly different from the paneer nuggets recipe

Ingredients:

For marination:

  • Paneer-200 gms(small cubes)
  • Red chilly powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Salt-as per taste

For batter:

  • Gram Flour-1/4 cup
  • Rice flour-1/4 cup
  • Salt
  • Red chilly powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder-1/2 tbsp

For coating and deep-frying:

  • Oil
  • Bread crumbs-1/2 cups

Procedure:

1. Measure and keep all the ingredients ready.

2. Marinate paneer and keep in refrigeration for 10 minutes.

3. Make a slightly thick batter.

4. Heat the oil.

5. Dip the paneer cubes in the batter and coat evenly with bread crumbs.

6. Deep fry them.

7. Drain excess oil if any and serve the paneer popcorn.

P.S:

I used homemade made bread crumbs from whole wheat bread.

Chop the paneer into equal-sized cubes.

The oil should be hot for the crispy paneer popcorn.

Cook in medium flame.

Adjust spices as per your taste.

This is excellent finger food for babies.

Skip salt if you are planning to offer for babies below one year.

You can use coarse powder of rice flakes too instead of bread crumbs.
